The Story of the Catery

The Catery was established in 1988 when three childhood friends who entertained often and had a flair for cooking and creating new and exciting menus had the idea to create a catering business. Cooking out of their home kitchens late into the nights and every weekend, The Catery began its journey.

The Catery enjoyed creating and executing events for all occasions. We catered events from small intimate dinner parties for 25 to elaborate wedding receptions for 150 and everything in between. Throughout the past 17 years the three friends continued on their own individual journeys. Mimi moved to Atlanta and then back to New York for various career opportunities, Irish enjoyed a successful career in restaurant management and Chris flourished in a career in retail management. The three friends continued to grow as aspiring Chef's, always enjoying the opportunity to entertain and cook for friends and family. All three eventually got married and had children. Through the years The Catery has continued to service its clients with outstanding excellence in catering fine cuisine.

In the year 2000, Chris frustrated with the corporate retail world decided that The Catery needed to be reborn. This time Chris decided to go all out and put all of his time and energy into making The Catery a success. His vision was to open a retail store where The Catery could share its incredible products and services with the public.

Today, The Catery located at 147 Chatsworth Avenue in Larchmont New York enjoys a quaint retail storefront. We are open six days a week, servicing our loyal customers for both catering and retail services. We have fresh coffee, tea and assorted breakfast items daily. We also do a healthy lunch and dinner business with our prepared meals to go. And, of course we continue to provide quality catering for all.

As our business has grown we have been able to provide our catering clientele with an increasing range of additional services, such as on-site event consultations, floral design, music, event planning, rental coordination.

Important Information about The Catery engagements ...

All menus are priced on a per person basis on the final menu you select. Prices are subject to change based on market prices of food.

A 50% deposit is requested upon agreement of menu selection. Balance is due upon completion of event. Payment can be made in either cash or checks. Please make checks payable to The Catery.

In the event you require servers for your party, The Catery can coordinate that for you. Servers are to be paid directly by client at the completion of the event. Service is billed separately at $35/hr for Chef Hands and $25/hr for all bartenders and servers. Travel pay is applied for events outside of Westchester County. Rates based on distance of travel.

Number of servers is based on number of guests you have. On average The Catery recommends 1 server per 10 guests. Chef Hand is required when any food is to be cooked on premise of event. Bartenders and servers are subject to clients needs.

The Catery would be happy to coordinate any rental needs you might have. We work directly with Westside Party Rentals. Westside delivers and picks-up directly from your home. Westside will bill you directly for their rentals.

Event coordinators are available to help you plan your event from "soup to nuts." They will come to your home and work directly with you in planning your entire event. Event Coordinators are available at $40/hr.

Based on availability, we can arrange for delivery. Delivery Charge is based on location of delivery
